Keys provides three hotkeys for volume control: increase, decrease, on/off (mute). 
You can map each function to any key. They will 
work system-wide, i.e. across all applications. 
Moreover Volume Keys provides the following options: 
volume setting of selectable individual lines or of the mixer's master line, selectable adjustment interval,
dynamic "overwriting" of  volume settings of other 
programs, visual indicator for volume setting,
optional "soft mute" avoids cracks at high volume levels, 
support of up to 8 channels per mixer input / output,
direct volume control via Wave / Midi mapper if no mixer available, control of the settings of the recording levels.
