  ~~~~~~~
   Cubic Player is the most popular player available for DOS, probably
because it supports such a wide range of sound cards and module formats. It
comes in two varieties: 1.7 and 2.0a++e (!). 1.7 is complete, finished, with
full documentation. 2.0a++e is not complete, unfinished, with hardly any
documentation. However, 2.0a++e supports IT modules and MP3 files, though it
loses the echoes that 1.7 provides. Take your pick.
   - Windows 3.1/95/NT
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   Mod4Win is the most popular player on Windows 3.1. It supports a wide
range of formats, and gives good sound quality. It's documentation is second
to none and contains a lot of information about modules which isn't directly
applicable to the player. Well worth getting, if only for the documentation.
   There are tons of players available for both Windows 95/NT.

   - Mac
   - Unix/Linux/Sun/NeXT
   - Atari
