The Intro
---------

This is version 0.2 of a simple UFO save game editor.

It will allow you to change the number of various items at any base
in any of your saved games (although you will not necessarily have
completed the research to use them).

You are also able to edit your base layouts, eg create a new hangar,
move a misplaced facility about etc.

You may now also edit your soldiers statistics. Editing of most attributes
as well as armour type and rank is possible.
NB Editing troops who are engaged in a mission does not seem to have
any effect until they get back to base.

The Instructions
----------------
To use the editor, simple change directory to wherever you keep UFO
and run UFOEDIT. Then follow the onscreen instructions. It's a bit of
a rough and ready interface but pretty easy to uderstand.

Early testing looks OK although the cheat editor does not do any validation
on your saved game ie. UFO may *really* object if you delete hangars which
are in use or create too many Access lifts.

I plan to put a whole lot more effort into this editor to allow editing of
every aspect of the game, coming up next will be Soldiers stats.

If you like this editor and use it to your advantage, I would appreciate
a financial contribution, nothing much, say UKP5. In return for this
registration fee, I will ensure that you receive priority attention for
future versions and full technical support should things go wrong (ulp!).

Finally the obligatory disclaimer :
*****************************************************************************
1) This editor may screw up your save games, your harddisk or worse. By using
it, you accept all liability for any consequence of your use.
I make no warranty at all about fitness for any specific purpose. If in
doubt, BACK UP YOUR SAVE GAMES!!!

2) I have only tested the editor on UFO (the European release), not on
XCOM - Terran Defence Force (the US release). I'd be interested to hear
if it works with both. See point (1).
