GENERAL

Bestris is yet another Tetris clone. Need I say more, except that I
have developed this game for a very long period of time. I started
almost five years ago back in 1995 with Amiga 500. This game is
dedicated to hardcore players to whom 20K points is nothing, and 22K
is a breakfast. You can play over 30K by the way.

To this version I have included the traditional way of turning the
pieces, which is the default. You can change to the alternative
clockwise method from options. I recommend you play this game from
pure DOS. Windows will steal some clock cycles which might make
this game skip some frames making it a bit slower even on fast
machines. I can say things seem to run at the same speed on a 200
MHz Pentium, but if you have a slower machine, I highly recommend
you boot it to DOS. 386 kicks ass in DOS, at least with this game
it does. There is a slight chance that I would make a DirectX
version of this game, so check my homepage in the next millennium.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

- VGA 256 colors
- 386 or better processor

GAME PLAY

As you might already know the idea in Tetris is to make complete
horizontal lines out of pieces which fall from the top of the game
board. When you get one or more lines complete without gaps, the
lines will vanish. The game ends when a piece doesn't fit to the
top of the board, and not when you reach the top.

The level changes every 10 complete lines. Level 10 is the last
one, and it's really not so difficult that you couldn't manage it
for some time, just keep the pile of pieces low.

SCORING

    1 line 100 points
    2 lines 250 "
    3 lines 500 "
    4 lines 750 "

You get '6 * level' points for each piece, and extra points the
higher you drop them.
