Fishing simulator Windows version 1.22w & DOS version 1.14
----------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT : WHEN UNIZIPPING THIS FILE, PLEASE USE THE "USE FOLDER NAMES"
OPTION IN WINZIP SO THAT THE FISHING SIMULATOR DIRECTORY
            STRUCTURE IS RE-CREATED.

This file contains important information and the latest compatibility
issues. For instructions on using the game, the _readme.txt file is
provided. For more detailed instructions a full 50 page colour manual
can be downloaded from www.fishsim.co.uk, where you will also be able
to find the latest game updates and game add-on's as well as submit and
view record catches.

To run the windows version of the game (fishwin.exe) you will need
Direct X 6 or higher installed. NT users will need service pack 5.

The DOS version (fishing.exe) of the game is NOT compatible with all
video cards. Your card needs to be at least VESA version 1.2 compliant
or higher.

Other compatibility issues
--------------------------

Owners of a PC with an INTEL 810 graphics chip will find that no mouse
cursor will be available in the windows version and the screen will go
black at startup in the DOS version. The problems with the windows version
are currently being fixed for this card and a patch will be released
shortly. The DOS version however can be made to run by editing the
fishing.ini file in the INF sub-folder of the game. The line that reads
VBE2.0 = 1, should be changed to VBE2.0 = 0. This ensures that the 810
cards do not use the VESA linear framebuffer, which are not supported on
the card, even though it reports VESA compatibility version 2.0.

Happy fishing !, please keep the suggestions and comments coming, whether
they are good or bad. The game can be improved and will be improved, it is
not like any other game, if you don't like a part of it and think it should
be changed, email me and I'll change the code for you within a day or so.
