******************************************************************************** DRAGST'S TRIPLANE TURMOIL CADET SCHOOL FOR NOVICE PILOTS V1.0 ******************************************************************************** There are probably many pilots who think this game is hard, so it thought that some kind of hint-document would be appropriate. Remember that all will not probably suit to your flying-style, but there is also some general hints. =[V1.0]======================================================================= GENERAL: ======== -The computer pilots who are taking off/landing will not care about you (although they will fire if you fly to their front). -Infantry can be the worst threat in several situations; A) Committing take off (so you move very, very slowly) when enemy infantry is present, or B) you try to killing lots of them flying low and straight. There is no actual way to survive from these situations. Without LOADS of luck. -Leaving ALL gunrounds behind will lighten the plane as much as leaving one bomb, so leaving only some rounds or firing them to sea to get faster is not very wise, because it doesn't do any actual/visual diffrence (and your accuracy decreases if you just keep firing). -The records will help you on your career, 'cause they will greatly help you advancing ranks! FLYING: ======= -Remember that stall is VERY good way to brake fast, but do not even think about it unless you can handle the plane. -When flying the finnish plane, remember to deactivate the power when turning. -Remember to use hit&run techique when playing with finnish plane!. DOGFIGHTING: ============ -The japanese plane can even outmaneuver the german plane, but only with empty bombload. Anyway the german plane is still a *bit* better in dogfight. -Avoid shooting too many bullets at the enemy plane, because it will probably explode! In solo game you cannot deactivate the part collision, so it is quite vital. -Remember that japanese plane will always run out of fuel, particulary with six bombs! So leave ATLEAST 2-3 behind if you are going to dogfight. -Best way to shoot down computer, is to fire a direct volley of bullets and then turn DOWNWARDS, so the computer follows you and your bullets hit him (and probably kills hit instantly). This is very effective way, although it needs some time to practise it. -Best way to distract the computer-fighter what is coming from opposite direction, is to fly high, and when the firing starts, DIVE! Best place to do this is, ofcourse, the naval areas. BOMBING: ======== -There is no actual need of leaving any bombs behind if you are playing with finnish plane, because it doesn't make any actual diffrence. -If you cannot hit structures with bombs, try A) Cluster-style, release all of your bombs or B) dive and release ONE bomb. Anyway, style A will decrease or bombing-accuracy, and REAL aces have a good accuracy, right? MISSIONS: ========= -No mission is impossible. So do not even consider that option when stuck in some mission. We have completed them all many, many times. -There are several *Ace-missions* which are quite easy to complete, but great effort is needed in receiving higher score. Patriot-flight is very good example of this, you are able to get atleast 169 points! (Belive or not..). -In solomissions you should learn how to use the *Radar* markers, because you can avoid enemy airplanes more easily. -Shoot every enemy plane which has runned out of fuel, you will get 1 KILL anyway. ANTI-AIRCRAFT: ============== -Best way to dodge the enemy AA-Guns is to DIVE DIRECTLY TOWARDS THEM. They won't hit you unless they are very, very lucky. The other (more dangerous) way is to fly LOW (and I mean LOW, under the noses of the cannons). -There is no way to dodge enemy AA-Machineguns if you fly above of them. So remember to have enough altitude. The finnish plane is able to fly directly through their fire without a scratch in several situations. See low-flying above, it works here as fine. ============================================================================== That's all folks this time, please email me for further questions or new versions of this file, I will update it as many times as possible. If you haven't registered the game yet, I say that you have missed A LOT! But don't worry, there is still time to fix that...! B) Have fun! -Dragst/DKS (dragst@pcuf.fi)
