Utilities for Windows 95 be installed on your system and only licensed
users of Norton Utilities are entitled to use System Activity Monitor.

This program is not supported by Symantec, and is provided AS
IS, solely as an information tool. Use at your own risk.

Please review this document to install System Activity Monitor.

1.0 DESCRIPTION

System Activity Monitor is designed to help you identify and track
down what process is performing IO to your hard disk or if an
application is doing IO to a modem. This can be useful for
finding out which applications are writing to your hard disk and
when. This can help to resolve "restarts" in Norton Utility
applications, as well as general system speed.

System Activity Monitor will display all disk writes on all available
logical drives. It displays this information in it's
main window area along with the drive letter and the application
    doing the access (e.g. EXPLORER.EXE).

System Activity Monitor will also display activity on any local
Modem devices attatched to your system.

2.0 INSTALLATION

NOTE: To install the System Activity Monitor you must first have
installed Norton Utilities for Windows 95.

As a convenience, a default Registry file has been included
which includes an AppPath for SMON.

    A. Ensure that Norton Utilities is installed into the
    default directory: "C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1."
If it isn't, then you will need to modify the provided SMON.REG
file. Edit SMON.REG and modify all occurances of the path in
the REG file to point to the location where you have installed
    Norton Utilities.

    B. From the Start Menu select "Run" then type "SMON.REG"

    C. The System Activity Monitor is now installed and can be run.
If you have problems running SMON, it is possible that not all
DLL's were found. Ensure that the SMON.REG points to the correct
    locations of Norton Utilities.

Thanks.
