*** Important information about Great Nations demo ***
------------------------------------------------------

- expect to find bugs.

- resolutions smaller than 600*400 are not supported.

- cost of registeration and other information about registeration will
be released (much?) later when 'final' version is ready.

- only map editing is possible in this demo version, editing/creating
units, buildings, inventions, etc.. will be available later for
  registered users only.

- GN crashes if land is too small for all nations

- If you have problems starting GN or GN crashes with 'fatal error',
please create log file with "GN -log 1" and include log.txt with
  bug report.

Please don't ask about release dates or registerations. We really don't
know. (We will only answer 'in two weeks'...) but bug reports, comments
and suggestions are gladly accepted!

*** Platform specific information ***
-------------------------------------

PC version
----------

Minimum requirements:

Windows '95 or Windows NT 4.0
DirectX 3 ('95) or Service Pack 3 (NT)
 16 MB of memory

Notes:

- Sometimes under Windows'95 GN pauses for a half second (reason unknown)
Under NT 4.0 GN seems to work without pauses.

Amiga version
-------------

Minimum requirements:

 Kickstart 3.0
 AGA chipset or Gfx board
 6 MB or more RAM

Notes:

- Processes GN, GN-LINK and GN-SERVER (only running if you are hosting game)
must have same priorities or GN may hang. (Any of GN's processes must not
be freezed if other GN's process uses all CPU time! This is not a
problem with enchanted task schedulers like Executive)

- Gfx board is highly recommended, native hires modes are really too slow
(even with quite fast C2P algorithm)

- no music and sound (I need AHI-driver for MikMod, free registered version
given for first who makes this and contacts me!)

- If you have problems starting GN, try "GN -gfxmode 0"
