        Christmas story:

On lords year 1995, collective minds of a-men had one christmas
holiday to accomplish what they call their "best demo so far".
It happened to be so that they weren't even going to attend
PartyV at Denmark at end of the year. Mostly Harmless then decided
to enter the event no matter what. Taking his notably young age into
account Wog decided to go there with him to oversee that Mostly
will not come to harm. Thus came christmas holiday, and nights became
long in this northern part of the world they call Finland. This could
only mean ONE thing: lots of time to IRC ;) Well, this however
became boring soon enough, which lead into most active coding period
in both of those peoples lives. Less than one week to party!
Some people has put it this way: "You in kind of horry, right?"
        You could say so too.

After some coding it was found out that DOS32 is mighty good
dos extender for making demos -- however -- old musicsystem was
for Tran's PMODE. Something had to be done - fast! One phonecall
later Penguin told us that he had his system easilly convertable
to DOS32. He actually did it in just few days. Just hope it will
work for that fast hack.. Penguin?

Next Feather came into the picture; he had drawn few nice pics,
which were naturally used (in other group's demo!! :).
About same time we came across Floss on IRC, "we" asked him if he'd
want to make the soundtrack since we allready had little action going
on before.. he was glad to help us out with his nice tune. He also
helped with design more than one could help from other side of the
globe; ain't the internet a wonder?

Oh yeah, did we got in a hurry??? Naaah....

The Party 5 was raving.. demo got finished. Allmost. <g> Well,
this demo was disqualified. Too much environment mapping? Too good
musics? :) Horrible flight paths?? Shaky camera movements? Too
blurred landscape? Sudden ending? *gag* we are so disappointed.
Becourse we didn't start making this demo EARLIER.. hehheh..

           S Y M P A T H I E S:

jtragic: Wish those thieves will rott
liket: Better luck next time, let's cry in duo ;)
maszque or such: We feel sorry for you for your 24bit intro
orange posse: No sympathies for you, becourse you won something :)

        Requirements:

        - 386SX or better
        - standard VGA
        - 5Mb of RAM
        - Gravis Ultrasound or Sound Blaster compatible soundcard

For smooth action 486DX4-100 is a minimum, this is mainly becourse
lack of skill in our part. We are truly sorry - UPGRADE!
You will thank us for it later.. O;)

Works in any DOS memory mode with just 240Kb's of free basemem.
Also tested with Windows95(tm) and found to be working allright.
Although 386SX can run the demo, it is highly NOT RECOMMENDED.
If the dialing at beginning of demo takes too long time, your
machine is hopelessly slow. DX4's are cheap novadays. Everyone
should be running to stores to get one. Even *we* can afford one.
Besides, we didn't buy dx4-100's to code dx2-66 effects, and it
shows! (couldn't resist ;) As an additional comment we would also
like to add that "we too can do 160x100x256 bitmap effects. It just
doesn't feel like d-zign day today. Maybe tomorrow. No art.
Just boring angels. And those even are ripped." One more additional
comment!! Some people might have seen more!! blurred version of the
landscape, which was a tad faster (much may I add), but we kind of
decided to put the end to all that fastness and make it really slow.
But now you can even see what's happening! Allmost! All the
"keyframe" data has been recorded by REFLEX-FEEDBACK(tm) recording
system (all rights reserved). Keyboard that is. 100% realtime too.
That shows? Nooo..? We even cleverly avoided keyframing - why not
when one can allways save EVERY FRAME into a file. Why bother using
B-spline keyframe smoothing? No one uses that anyway. Well, some
Aegyptian guys seem to , but hey! They got fishes too..

Okay. Enough crying about. Actually, we ain't crying. :)) We're just
happy this is done and over with. If the demo seems like half-done
only you can allways sue us. Haha.. btw. the vector stuff is pretty
slow too! It can render only about 1000 gouraud faces into a frame
on our dream 100Mhz 486 setup. Ah.. forgot to mention textured too.
WHAT DOES THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE DEMO ANYWAY!? Well, we didn't have
any boasting in the demo, so why not do it conviniently in the
infofile where everyone can skip it in most elegant fashion.. besides
who reads these texts anyway. You just won a pink cucumber. Cash your
prize from jukkatl@evitech.fi I dare you. See what I mean? Not a
single email yet. And I can promise: not a single one forever.
Rude! Not even mentioned whose email it was.. well, to keep up the
exitement.. we won't tell it even if you bothered to write.

Want to join us? Keep dreaming. We allready have manymany people,
unfortunately manymanymany few are doing anything. One coder is
doing stuff, other coder too. He's pretty cool. Then wo got two
more coders doing stuff. Sometimes. One dude just done his music
system. It can be compiled to link with DOS32 or TRAN'S PMODE.
Supports sb, pro, 16, gus. All the works. Speed is ok too. Tough
it won't reset soundcards properly. GUS resets allmost everytime,
sb's hardly ever. Man! Rip someone's init routines.. :))
Other dude has REALMODE musicsystem for GUS only. Works pretty well.
No problems we know of. One dude made pretty fancy compression
program for us. Even decompressing plug-in with decrypting on the
loader. Invisible to application programmers (that's us). Has also
custom lossy-compressions for audio and visual data. Wow. We also
have manymany musicians. One keeps tracking nice tunes, too bad he
uses fast tracker2. (we cannot play xm's - yet ;) Few others track
techno/trance/etc. One tracks allkinds of music. One left!! <g>
We even have few nice graphicians. Too bad they're too lazy. Most
of the time anyway. Keep up the good work!! :) IF you work that is..

Now fatal question. Want still to join? GO to a good shrink.
Come back. ask again. Want STILL to join? Ok. you're in. just fill-in
the official info-form and you're set.
