          Please refer to PCBMM.DOC for a basic description of PCBMM.

      One of the most frequent requests received about PCBMM is "What kind
      of utilities can I run with it?" The answer is virtually anything.
      On the YCS Support System, visiting Sysops were asked to tell us
      about some of the things they used in PCBMM. Listed below are some
      of the responses we received.

      Since it is impossible to list every program listed in our survey,
      similar programs are listed below as a "group" rather than program
      name. The programs are listed in no particular order.

      * Beurg's LIST program is widely used in PCBMM. Some Sysops have it
        installed as multiple PCBMM selections, to view text files such as
        script ANSWER files, log-in NEWREG answer files, etc.

      * Actview and other CALLER log viewing programs.

      * CALLER log statistical generating programs.

      * USER file statistic generating programs.

      * Off-line mail readers.

      * Echo mail / message base / Fido mail etc. utilities.

      * PCBoard DIR utilities such as dupe finders, purgers, file and byte
        counters, etc.

      * NEWS file generating programs.

      * PCBMoni, the PCBoard node monitoring utility.

      * QEdit and other text editors.

      * PCBEdit, TheDraw, PCBDraw and other ANSI/macro drawing programs.

      * RIPaint and other RIP graphic drawing programs.

      * Often used SETUP programs for doors and utilities such as mail
        doors, on-line text doors (QReader's QRSETUP), etc.

      * Terminal communications programs.

      * Fax software.

      * Word processing software.

      * dBase, FoxPro and other database software, sometimes managing USER
        information, sometimes for regular database use.

      * File/directory managers such as Norton Commander and XTree.

      * Batch files which perform a variety of tasks.

      * PCBFV is often used in its special "local utility mode" to view
        compressed files uploaded to systems where upload directories are
        not "downloadable" locations (resulting in those files being
        inaccessible with PCBoard's F;V command).
           c:\pcbfv\pcbfv.exe pcbfv.cnf /L [path+filename.zip]
        [Set the "Prompt for additional command line" parameter to Y and]
        [enter complete path and name of the file on the command line. ]

      * PCBoard is sometimes run from PCBMM. Some Sysops run PCBMM from
        the DOS prompt, and actually launch the PCBoard node as one of the
        PCBMM applications by simply entering BOARD.BAT as the executable
        command.
