PATCH INSTRUCTIONS
------------------

If you have :

1 - A 486 SX33 (as opposed to DX33)

2 - A Trident video card

3 - Problems with your Sound Blaster card

4 - Find that the game crashes after playing it for a short while

then these patches may help. And here's how to use them.

1 - Install the game as per usual.

2 - Configure THEVOICE as per usual (this is part of the standard
    installation process).

3 - Copy the new PCCRICK.EXE (from the patch directory) over the top
of the old one in the CRICKET directory on their hard
    disk.

NOTE : If you have a Trident video card, copy the PCCRICK.EXE
    from the PATCH/TRIDENT directory.

4 - Typing CRICKET will run the normal game.

5 - Typing CRICKET -THREAD will run the fake Windows version.

6 - Typing CRICKET -HMI will run the Sound Blaster patch.

7 - Typing CRICKET -THREAD -HMI will run both changes together.

All you have to do is remember which switch (version)
works for you and from then on, type that switch after CRICKET
every time you run the game.

NOTE FOR THE TRIDENT PATCH
--------------------------

If you use the Trident patch files, you will find that the graphics
will get corrupted after you select the SAVE option in
THEVOICE.EXE (the sound configuration program) and your computer will
need to be rebooted. However, don't worry - your configuration will
be saved OK and the game should run fine after this.
