During the Cival War one battle is commonly known as the turning point
for the Union: The Battle of Gettysburg. In this battle General Lee invaded
northern soil. This was done to stop northern advances on the Mississippi,
and to cause political unrest in the North against continued agression against
the Confederacy. I have changed the units concept to allow for the two seperate
armies of the North and the South (blue & gray). I also put in units that can't
be built. Units such as corps commanders and General Pickett (what would
"Picketts Charge" be like without him). Seeing that the South was fighting with
few resources and little man power (as compaired to the Norths never ending
supply of green troops), I have given most of the Confederate units veterin status
and a powerful attack rating. Also to ensure that the computer plays a defensive
role when as the Union; I have created "Union defenders", regular solders with NO
attack rating or movement abilites. These units are however, in a fortress on the
respective Ridges in fortified positions with a higher defence factor than regular
Union solders. Big Round Top is represented with the mountian icon. The historical
accuracy is tramendious. To ensure a historical game it is almost impossibe to
gain advances (so use the diplomats as scouts to see where the enemy is). This is
mainly a historical game, so play isn't that difficult. Another words anything less
than Diety would be dishonerable. Game is set on the 2nd day of July 1863 just
before Pickett's charge.
