This is the readme file for the "Battle for Adoij" STAR WARS scenario for Civilization II. First, let me just say that you use this scenario at your own risk.

In case you have never used one of these scenario things before, just copy all of the sound files into your c:/mps/Civ2/Sound directory. All other files go into your c:/mps/Civ2 directory. These files will modify key game elements, so MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP ANY FILES YOU ARE ALTERING so you can change them back later. Now you should be good to go.

A basic description of the goals of this scenario can be found in the adoij.txt file. Beyond this, a few more clarifications can be made. The Rebels and the Empire are fairly well matched both in technology and number of units. Dark Sun has a few units less, but a large cash reserve (due to illegal income) for quickly building more. The mystery civilization (?????) is somewhat behind the other civs in technology, but make up for this with larger numbers of troops and knowledge of the terrain (their boats move faster and some of their troops ignore ZOC or move as alpine troops). Dark Sun (Communism) and the Rebels (Republic) will have to watch out for civil disorder when moving units out of cities.

You do not need to worry about pollution in this scenario (it doesn't exist). DO NOT try to develop new technologies. You will only waste your time. I have gone through a great deal of trouble to prevent the spread of technologies although this may still happen on occasion. Also, this is a TOTAL WAR scenario so trying to make peace with other civs is also a complete waste of time. This scenario takes a long time to play, as all civs start with a great number of units.

Finally, just let me acknowledge the fact that I could not have designed this scenario without the two STAR WARS modpacks that are floating around the net. I don't know who designed them, but they deserve thanks for what must have been many hours of work.

I would appreciate your comments at gaia88@aol.com
If I receive enough suggestions, I will make an improved version.

Thanks, and enjoy. Nathan Dawson.
