THE ELDER SCROLLS ADVENTURES: REDGUARD

TIDBITS
The world of Tamriel is rich with culture and history, and The Elder Scrolls Adventures: REDGUARD, focuses on the legend and adventures of Cyrus, a redguard mercenary. The adventures of Cyrus take place about 400 years before DAGGERFALL, when all of the provinces of Tamriel are being conquered by the Imperials to form the Empire of Tamriel as we know it in the other games. What better way to tell a redguard story than through a swashbuckling adventure!

Using a 3rd person perspective, REDGUARD'S camera system allows for dynamic panning of the action. Imagine this... you approach an unyielding guard at the city's palace. Once you artfully sneak your way past the first guard, you are sternly greeted by the corrupt Governor and a handful of his guards. As you exchange a few hostile words, the camera pans around showing the guards drawing their weapons and coming after you. The camera zips back as the guards come after you. It is six to one! You dodge several swipes of the sword, and deftly grad hold of the chandelier, pulling yourself up and cutting it loose. The camera flips down to show the chandelier crashing on the men below, while you hang from the cut rope above. It's all part of the Redguard experience and it all happens in real time, under your control.

Your adventures all take place on the island of Stros M'Kai, an island vibrant with life. The island is quite large, and free for you explore. Each character has something unique to say, each building is meticulously crafted, and each area has something new for you to discover. Even when you stand still, you will notice how your surroundings are alive. The towns people go about their business in the busy market square, birds fly by and are occasionally underfoot, ships dock in the harbor, and the wind from the ocean gentle pushes the clouds in the sky and waves the flags that hang overhead. You will notice the little attention to details. Pull out your sword, slice a candle in half, and 2 seconds later the top of it falls of onto the table.

But in addition to your fighting skills, you must hone your puzzle solving skills. Utilize your wit to translate ancient writing to enter the Dwarven ruins, sneak past the guards to break into the palace, and even discover lost treasure by deciphering a pirate map. X marks the spot!

REDGUARD deftly blends action, adventure and storytelling in an elegant system that will have you experiencing a game unlike any other.
