                          DeadMeat's BSP Tutorial
                                readme.txt

This file contains information on setting up and running the BSP Tutorials on your
own hard drive (as opposed to waiting for each page to load over the internet):

First of all, make a directory on your hard drive - I suggest C:\BSPTUTOR, but it
doesn't really matter - and unzip all the lesson files into that directory. Images
go in the \images directory, and maps go in the \tutormap directory,
so use the directory option on pkunzip or winzip to preserve that structure.
Each lesson file only contains the files that are required for that lesson.
However, there is some redundancy in the files provided with each lesson. So,
if you're extracting the files and you get an error message saying a file already
exists and the one you are installing is newer, go ahead and overwrite it with
the newer version.

Once you've got the files set up, simply load 'lessonXX.html' into your favorite
browser, with 'xx' representing whatever lesson you want to load, and you're ready
to go.

If you don't have all the lessons downloaded, there are probably going to be some
links that won't work. Also, any links to external pages won't work unless you're
logged on to the internet at the time. Links to files that can be downloaded from
my site may not work, but these files should be included with that lesson's zip file.

Thanks for the support you guys out there in Quake-land have given me over the last
year. I've really enjoyed sharing my knowledge about BSP with the world. I plan
to get into editing for other games (Hexen2, etc) when BSP supports it and when we
have all the necessary supporting utilities we need (compilers, etc). If
you have an idea for something you would like to see covered, let me know.
