THANK YOU
---------
Thank you for trying Shutdown Monitor! Shutdown Monitor is a
powerful, flexible, and easy-to-use add-on for Windows 95/NT 4.0.
It allows you to selectively automate running programs, batch files,
command lines, etc. when Windows 95/NT 4.0 is shutting down.

FEATURES
--------
Shutdown Monitor can create a 'Shutdown' directory on your start
menu. When Windows 95 shuts down you can:

* Select Shutdown Monitor to automatically run any programs
(shortcuts) located in the shutdown directory.

* Have Shutdown Monitor query you at shut down and select which
programs you would like to run

* Select not to run any programs

*   Cancel Windows shutdown

* Shutdown Windows at a certain time

* Log all program actions and/or errors to a log file

* Shutdown Monitor will run in system tray, minimized, or in
    the background
    OR
* Use the included Windows Shutdown program to automate and
    execute time-consuming shutdown procedures.

* Pass command line parameters to "Windows Shut Down" program to
automate shutting down and running programs with a single shortcut.

STORED COMMANDS

* You can selectively execute stored commands and command lines
at shut down. Anything that you can Run from the Start>Run menu,
you can execute from Shutdown Monitor, including DOS commands.

* Show a user defined message before or after a command runs
and assign a user defined action to be taken, depending on the
    selection that you make.

* Set the maximum number of times to run a command in a single day.

* Select to run a command daily, once a week, once a month, or once
    a year.

* Select a run mode for the command (Minimized, Maximized, Normal).

* Select a time limit for programs to run before they are
    automatically ended.

Shutdown Monitor is "User Profile" aware. Each user can have their
own Shutdown directory and commands list to execute.

The author says:
"I'm a programmer. I wanted a way to automate backing up my essential
files and libraries. I had a terrible habit of forgetting to back up my
files until after I had already shut my system down. I tried using the
Startup folder, but that meant 1) I did my automatic backup BEFORE I made
any changes and 2) My backup ran every time I rebooted (which was pretty
often). I knew that there were other utilities around that automatically
ran programs at shut down, but I didn't want to run these programs and
batch files every time I rebooted. So Shutdown Monitor was born. I'm
happy with the way it turned out. It really is a headache saver."

Try it! I think you'll like it.

VERSION INFO
============
Version 1.1.0 - Added the ability to automatically cancel the Windows
shutdown. Useful if the programs/commands you were executing
took too long and Windows shutdown was timing out. If
AutoCancel Windows Shutdown was selected, then Shutdown Monitor
will present the user with it's own Windows Shut Down
	selection window.

	Added WinNT 4.0 support.

Version 1.2.0 - Fixed a bug that prevented certain types of shortcuts
	from being executed properly.

Added a module that you can perform the 'Windows Shut Down'
from. The advantage to using the Windows Shut Down module that
comes with Shutdown Monitor (instead of the one on the "Start"
	menu) are:
	  1. You completely avoid having Windows' Shut Down timing out.
	  2. You don't have to wait until all your programs and commands
	     execute to finish shutting down.
	  3. You avoid using system resources while Shutdown Monitor runs
in the background (or minimized) waiting for Windows to
	     Shut Down.

List Commands and Shutdown Folder programs in one window. Added
priorty run buttons (like in Shutmon Maintenance). Now you can
review the entire execute list at one time, and modify the run
order of the entire execute list, not just the command lines.

Version 1.2.1 - Fixed a bug that prevented Shutdown Monitor from closing
WIndows NT directly from the program.

Version 1.3.0 - More robust NT support and improved "shortcut" support.

Version 1.3.1 - Moved username and license number from HKEY_CURRENT_USER
to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE for easier management of users on one
        machine.

Version 1.3.2 - Fixed a minor bug that caused priority buttons to be
        always visible.

Version 2.0.0 - Major enhancements. The following was added to
        Shutdown Monitor:

        * Select time limit for programs before they time-out
        * Run Shutdown Monitor in system tray
        * Pass command line parameters to "Windows Shut Down" program
to automate shutting down and running programs with a single
          shortcut.
        * Shutdown Windows at a certain time.
        * Pre-select the type of shutdown to use when "Auto Cancel
          Windows Shutdown" is selected.
        * Log program actions and/or errors to a log file.

        Command Lines
        =============
        * Select run mode (Minimized, Maximized, Normal).
        * Set the maximum number of times to run a command in a single
          day.
        * Select to run a command daily, once a week, once a month, or
          once a year.
        * Select to show a user defined message before or after a
command runs and assign a user defined action to be taken,
depending on the user's selection from the Message.
