Sensiva Help Home > Customize Sensiva > Creating and Editing a Plug in
Sensiva stores all components (actions associated with any particular application, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, or Netscape Communicator) in a plug-in. The plug-in contains the actions that are used in that particular application. Sensiva comes with plug-ins for many popular applications. You can also easily create plug-ins for any application you wish.
The Plug-in Editor takes you through the steps necessary to create a new plug-in for an application. The plug-in editor can be found in the "Customize Sensiva" button near the top of the Sensiva window. Select "Plug-in" and then "New".
Target
If your application is active and visible in a window, you can drag the pointer over the application for which you want to create a plug-in. Sensiva will then capture the information it needs to create the new plug-in.
Application Name Window
The caption should only contain the name of the application. Sensiva should automatically fill in the caption for you. Be sure that just the application name and not the name of the file that is open in the application is in the box so that Sensiva can recognize the application correctly in the future.
Copy Actions From:
The application that you are creating a plug-in for is likely to contain standard commands such as Copy, Cut, Paste, etc. Sensiva can copy the actions from any existing plug-in to the new plug-in, saving you the trouble of re-creating actions that you already have. If the new application is very similar to an application that you already have a plug-in for, use that application's actions. Most of the time, you will copy actions from the Default plug-in.
Save the Plug-in
When you click OK, the new plug-in is automatically saved and added to the list of plug-ins. Now Sensiva will automatically use this new plug-in when you use this application. You can also enhance this plug-in by editing existing actions or by creating new ones.
Plug-ins are also available online for many popular applications in Sensiva's
Plug-in Library.
